Human lung organoids retain immune cells in new research model
Researchers have developed human lung organoids that retain a local immune system, offering a new laboratory approach to investigating respiratory infections and immune responses. The NIH announced the work on October 7, alongside a study published in Nature.The Stanford-led research used intact fragments of distal lung tissue from more than 220 donors.
