Since Fubara Returned From State Of Emergency He’s Acting Like He Has Grievances Against Rivers—Nwala

According to a report by Channels TV, on Thursday October 8, 2026, Legal practitioner and commentator Chetam Nwala has expressed deep concern over the state of leadership in Rivers State, accusing the state governor of political apathy and administrative neglect since his return to office.

Speaking during a recent public broadcast on state affairs, Nwala criticized the state leadership for abandoning governance and harboring hostility toward the citizens who elected him.

Nwala highlighted that almost a year has passed since the governor returned from his extended stay, yet the administration has shown little progress or commitment to improving the lives of Rivers residents.

“The governor has been back for almost a year now from the state of Emergency. And since he returned, he started acting like he has grievances against Rivers people,” Nwala stated.

He further accused the governor of needlessly fighting the electorate rather than focusing on development, infrastructure, and public welfare across the state’s local government areas.

“He’s quarreling Rivers people and he’s doing nothing for the state. He’s only counting his days and all, and it’s an unfortunate exposure for us,” he added.

Lamanting the breakdown of effective executive administration in the oil-rich state, Nwala emphasized that the current political climate fails to meet the basic standards of responsible public service.

“This is not leadership. This is not governance, and a lot of us are really saddened by what is happening in Rivers State,” Nwala concluded.
