Villa Ridge woman dies after crash at Washington intersection

WASHINGTON, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A Villa Ridge woman died on Tuesday after a crash with another vehicle in Washington, Missouri.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Missouri Route 100 and South Point Road around 3:30 p.m., according to the Washington Police Department.

A 36-year-old man driving a van was traveling eastbound as a 78-year-old woman in a westbound SUV attempted to make a left turn onto South Point Road, according to police.

The van crashed into the SUV. Paramedics transported the 78-year-old woman to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The Washington Police Department said it is continuing to investigate the crash and would not release further information at this time.
