Alleged drug dealer Taryll Cutchin TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchy Drug Task Force has released the details of Operation Crack Cycle that involved the arrest of a man in a Raymond Avenue laundromat on Tuesday afternoon. Agents arrested Taryll Cutchin in the College Wash and Dry Laundromat around 2 p.m. and charged him with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance.
The initial Mid-Hudson News coverage of the arrest is here.
Drug task force agents had identified activity consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics out of the College Wash and Dry Laundromat near Vassar College. Agents identified the primary dealer as Cutchin, 50, and began purchasing narcotics from him. The agents made purchases on numerous occasions during this investigation.
When the agents raided the laundromat on Tuesday, they took Cutchin into custody, and he was found to be in possession of a quantity of narcotics packaged for sale.
A town judge arraigned him in City of Poughkeepsie Court, and he was released on an appearance ticket. Detective Sergeant Adam Harris said numerous additional charges related to drug sales are pending against Cutchin. “He may think that selling drugs out of a laundromat will keep him clean, but the Dutchess County Drug Task Force knows better. We will investigate alleged drug activity anywhere in Dutchess County and this is just one more example of our efforts to keep the community safe.”
“The alleged sale of narcotics from a business in the heart of the Arlington community, near Vassar College and surrounded by residents, students, and other businesses, is exactly the type of activity our Drug Task Force is working every day to disrupt,” said District Attorney Anthony Parisi. “Those who choose to traffic dangerous drugs in our communities should understand that we will identify them, investigate them, and hold them accountable.”
