Minister Balaam Storm’s Kigezi Over Corruption, Orders Leaders to Attend in Person
In a notification letter dated 7th October 2026 addressed to the Chief Administrative Officers of the four Kigezi districts, Minister Barugahara announced that he will personally visit each district for a one-day engagement with district leadership, technical staff and other key stakeholders.
According to the schedule attached to the letter, the meetings will start in Kisoro DLG on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, followed by Rubanda DLG on Wednesday 21st October, Kabale DLG on Thursday 22nd October and will conclude in Rukiga DLG on Friday, 23rd October 2026.
Minister Barugahara says the purpose of the meeting is to discuss and operationalize H.E. the President’s directive to expose and fight corruption in Uganda, with particular emphasis on strengthening accountability, enhancing transparency in Local Governments, improving service delivery, and intensifying the fight against corruption.
Minister Barugahara has instructed that attendance is mandatory and in person for all top district leaders. Those expected include the District Chairpersons, District Speakers, Mayors, Chairpersons of District Service Commissions, Deputy Chief Administrative Officers, Town Clerks, DISO/ISO and all Heads of Departments (HoDs).
