Plane erupts in flames after crashing in California wine country

Employees at the Petaluma Municipal Airport and the nearby Rooster Run Golf Club confirmed to CBS News that the aircraft crashed around 10:30 a.m.
Witness video showed fire crews hosing down the plane as heavy smoke billowed from the wreckage.

Washington Street between Garfield Drive and Adobe Road due to an accident. A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that two people were on board the Vanβs RV-7A aircraft at the time of the crash, KTVU reported.
It’s not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.
The Petaluma Police Department issued an alert warning motorists to avoid East Washington Street between Garfield Drive and Adobe Road.
“Emergency personnel are on scene. Some roadways closed,” the alert stated.
