“Wacha Wapigwe” Viral Video of Kenyan Woman Seen Fighting Nigerian Boyfriend in Mombasa Road Drama

A video showing a Kenyan woman in a physical confrontation with her Nigerian boyfriend along Mombasa Road has sparked outrage after circulating widely on social media.

The footage, reportedly recorded by a boda boda rider, captures the pair involved in a heated altercation following what is said to have been a night out.

In the video, the woman appears distressed and can be heard alleging that the man attempted to strangle her. She is seen trying to get away as the confrontation escalates in the middle of the road.

The situation reportedly took another turn when passersby allegedly took advantage of the chaos and made away with some of the man’s phones.

The man is then heard confronting the woman over the missing devices, apparently blaming her for what had happened during the scuffle.

The video has since attracted strong reactions online, with Kenyans divided over the incident and the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.

Some social media users focused on the man’s nationality, with one widely shared caption taking a swipe at Kenyan women who date foreigners.

“Hawa ni wale wamekataa Wakenya wanataka watu wa nje, wacha wapigwe,” the caption read, roughly suggesting that women who reject Kenyan men in favour of foreigners should face such treatment.

However, other users urged people to avoid turning the incident into a debate about nationality, stressing that violence in relationships should be addressed regardless of where either partner comes from.

Police have yet to issue an official statement on the reported incident, and it remains unclear whether either of the two involved has filed a formal complaint.

As the footage continues to circulate, the incident has renewed conversations about relationship violence, personal safety and the dangers of domestic disputes spilling into public spaces.

Authorities may need to establish what happened before, during and after the confrontation and determine whether any offences were committed.
