Bandits:They Reduced The Ransom To 3M,They Said They Need Cash & They Don’t Accept Transfers-Adewale

In a video shared by News Central TV, Itunu Adewale, the elder brother of one of the victims kidnapped in Imo State, provided an update on the efforts being made by the family to secure the release of those still in the custody of the bandits, explaining that the ransom demand had been reduced to N3 million as the family continues to work towards meeting the demand.

Adewale explained that the bandits had insisted that the ransom must be paid in cash, making it clear that they would not accept a bank transfer or any other form of payment, which has added another challenge to the family’s efforts to raise and deliver the money.

According to Adewale, the family is currently working on the situation and trying to meet the latest ransom demand, as the reduction in the amount has provided a clearer figure for them to work towards, although the requirement for cash payment remains an important condition set by the kidnappers during their communication with the family.

In Adewale’s words: “The bandits reduced the ransom to ₦3 million. They said we have to pay it by force. They said they need cash and they don’t accept transfers or anything like that. We are on it now.”
