“An Offspring of a Tiger Does Not Eat Grass” – Kuffour Praises Zanetor’s Hands-On Flood Response
A Facebook commentator, Ebenezer Kuffour, has praised Environment, Science and Technology Minister Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings following her reported involvement in efforts to assist residents affected by flooding in parts of Accra.
Kuffour’s comments followed the circulation of a video in which Zanetor was reportedly seen helping to manage traffic and support response activities in a flood-affected area. He described the intervention as an example of practical leadership, arguing that public officials should remain present when communities face emergencies.
Using the African proverb, “An offspring of a tiger does not eat grass,” Kuffour linked Zanetor’s approach to the leadership style of her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings. He suggested that her willingness to get involved on the ground reflected qualities associated with the former president.
Zanetor represents the Klottey Korle constituency and has a documented history of engaging with flood-related challenges in the area. Parliamentary records show that she has previously raised concerns about the impact of climate change on flooding and commended security agencies and emergency responders involved in rescue operations.
Her official website has also documented her involvement in visiting residents affected by flooding in Adabraka Sahara, while previous constituency initiatives included providing clean-up equipment to electoral areas following heavy rains.
Zanetor’s professional background includes medical training, an executive master’s degree in Conflict, Peace and Security, and certificates in defence management and conflict and crisis management.
Since August 2026, she has additionally served as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology after being sworn into office by President John Mahama.
Kuffour’s comments therefore place Zanetor’s reported flood response within a broader discussion about hands-on leadership and her family’s public-service legacy.
