Met Department Warns of Morning and Afternoon Rains Today — See the Affected Areas

The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Kenya on Wednesday, October 7, with some counties expected to receive showers during both morning and afternoon hours.

According to the latest daily forecast, coastal counties including Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu may receive light showers in a few areas during the morning and afternoon. Lamu and Kilifi are also expected to experience sunny intervals.

In northern Kenya, Wajir may receive light morning rains before moderate showers and thunderstorms develop in the afternoon. Mandera is also expected to experience morning rainfall and thunderstorms, followed by more showers later in the day.

Marsabit may record moderate morning rainfall in some areas, especially around Moyale, before afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Isiolo, Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Kirinyaga and Murang’a could also receive light morning rains, with some areas getting afternoon showers.

Several western and central counties are also on the forecast. Nyeri, Nakuru, Kakamega, Siaya and Kisumu may experience cloudy conditions with chances of light morning rain, followed by afternoon showers. Thunderstorms are also possible in parts of Nakuru and western Kenya.

Along the Coast, Mombasa could receive light showers during both morning and afternoon hours, while Kwale and Taita-Taveta may experience morning showers. Other counties likely to receive mainly afternoon rainfall include Garissa, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Nyandarua and Kiambu.

The forecast also covers West Pokot, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Baringo, Kericho, Bomet, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Kisii and Nyamira, where afternoon showers are possible.

In Nairobi, residents can expect cloudy morning conditions with a chance of light rain in some areas. The afternoon may bring additional light showers as Kenyans across the affected counties monitor changing weather conditions.
