What to know about camping and parking at Rock the South in Decatur
Planning on camping or parking at Rock the South? Here are a few things you should know before heading to the festival grounds.
Rock the South runs Oct. 1-4 at 3453 Gordon Terry Parkway in Decatur. Camping and parking passes are separate from festival admission, according to information from Rock the South.
Camping check-in begins Wednesday from 8 a.m. to midnight. Another check-in window is available Thursday from 6 to 9 a.m.
Organizers said there are no other scheduled check-in times.
Camping passes include four nights at the campground. Campers will also have access to food options, the General Store and entertainment at the Fanzone Stage.
Campers can travel between the campground and festival venue during the weekend, according to the festival's camping information.
Car and tent camping sites are approximately 20 feet by 20 feet and allow up to four guests.
Each campsite includes space for one vehicle and one camping unit.
Additional vehicles cannot be parked inside the campground. Those vehicles require an extra vehicle pass and must be parked in a separate lot outside the campground.

RV sites are approximately 25 feet by 50 feet and can accommodate up to eight guests.
Camping packages include sites with 30-amp or 50-amp electrical hookups. No-hookup RV sites are also available, and generators are allowed under the festival's guidelines.
Some RV packages also include sites closer to the festival entrance.
Waste and water hookups are not included with camping passes. The festival says additional on-site services will be available for campers to purchase ahead of the event.
Camping passes include one vehicle. Anyone bringing an additional vehicle will need a separate extra vehicle pass.
Those vehicles will be parked outside the campground. Campers can walk between the extra vehicle lot and campground with their camping wristband.
The extra vehicle lot is scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to midnight Wednesday and from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
Vehicles returning to the lot will go through festival security and may be searched.
The festival also warns that peak traffic hours could delay re-entry to the extra vehicle lot.
General festival parking is separate from camping.
Parking passes start at $40.99, according to Rock the South. Weekend and single-day parking options are available.
Overnight parking is not allowed unless you're staying in a camping package or have an extra vehicle camping pass, according to the festival.
Showers will be available on site for both RV and car campers for $10 per use.
