Wike And His Band of Rainbow Coalition Members Visit Fubara At His Private Residence – VIDEO

The political reconciliation process between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike appears to have entered another significant phase following a meeting between the governor and members of the political coalition associated with the former governor.

Wike, alongside prominent figures within the Rainbow Coalition, recently visited Fubara at the governor’s private residence in Port Harcourt, in what political watchers described as another indication of the deepening rapprochement between the two camps.

The meeting comes after months of political tension and intense disagreements that had sharply divided the political establishment in Rivers State. The dispute between Fubara and Wike had generated considerable attention nationally, with both camps at different points becoming involved in political and institutional battles.

The latest engagement, however, points to a significant shift from confrontation towards cooperation.

Fubara had previously made his position on the political reconciliation clear, announcing that he had chosen to work with the Wike-led political bloc and declaring that the dispute between them had come to an end.

The governor also pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, further strengthening speculation that the political realignment could have wider implications beyond Rivers State.

The latest meeting is therefore being viewed as more than a routine political visit. It provides another public signal that the previously hostile relationship between the two influential politicians is being replaced by a working political arrangement.

The reconciliation effort has attracted considerable interest because of the political influence wielded by both men. Wike remains an important figure within the national political landscape, while Fubara controls the Rivers State government and commands significant influence within the state’s political structure.

Members of the Rainbow Coalition have also repeatedly sought to reassure supporters and residents that the reconciliation will not be used as an avenue for political retaliation. The coalition has maintained that individuals and groups previously associated with either side should not fear victimisation as the two camps move towards a more unified political structure.

The emerging alliance could consequently reshape political calculations in Rivers State ahead of the next electoral cycle. With previously opposing factions now attempting to operate within the same political framework, the coalition could become a major force in determining the direction of the state’s politics.

For now, the meeting between Wike, Fubara and other coalition figures represents another step in a reconciliation process that could bring an end to one of the state’s most closely watched political disputes.
