Kanpur man arrested after Thai woman alleges marriage fraud, ₹60L cheating

Kanpur: A 30-year-old Anwarganj man was arrested after a Thai woman (25) accused him of concealing his marital status, marrying her and cheating her of about 20 lakh baht (Rs 60 lakh), police said on Tuesday.In a complaint submitted to ADCP East Shiva Singh, the woman alleged that Irfan, a resident of Latouche Road, pressured her to move permanently to India and convert her religion when she sought repayment.Singh said a police team was immediately sent and Irfan was apprehended.
