Just Days After Meeting Kalonzo, Sifuna & Matiang’i, Uhuru Lands in Trouble as This Is Revealed

Senior lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has issued a warning to politicians seeking the presidency in 2027, saying those campaigning on a platform of change should be careful about associating with former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ahmednasir made the remarks on Tuesday, October 6, as political parties and leaders continue to reposition themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The lawyer argued that politicians who want to campaign on issues such as good governance, accountability, constitutionalism and change should keep their distance from Uhuru.

He specifically pointed to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who recently unveiled The Equitable Party after leaving the Orange Democratic Movement.

Sifuna has emerged as one of the opposition figures seeking to build a political base ahead of the 2027 election. His new party was officially unveiled in Nairobi on October 4, with several opposition leaders attending the event.

Ahmednasir said close association with Uhuru could send a political message about where a politician stands.

His comments come at a time when the opposition camp is undergoing major changes. Several leaders have either formed new parties, joined different political formations or started discussions about possible alliances.

Sifuna’s political journey has been closely watched since his departure from ODM. He is now working to establish The Equitable Party across the country as he prepares for the next election.

Uhuru, meanwhile, has remained involved in political discussions after leaving State House in 2022. His Jubilee Party has also been part of the wider opposition political conversation.

Ahmednasir’s latest remarks have therefore added another layer to the ongoing debate over political alliances ahead of 2027.

The lawyer has previously commented on the choices facing presidential hopefuls, including Sifuna and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

For now, the opposition remains divided among several political formations, with leaders continuing to discuss possible cooperation.

As the 2027 election approaches, questions over who will work with whom are expected to remain a major part of Kenya’s political debate.
