“An Offspring of a Tiger Does Not Eat Grass” – Kuffour Reacts to Dr. Zanetor Directing Traffic

A Facebook post by Ebenezer Kuffour has commended Korle Klottey Member of Parliament, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, for her active involvement in responding to flooding that affected parts of Accra.

Kuffour’s comments followed the circulation of a video showing the legislator helping to manage traffic and supporting emergency response efforts in areas affected by the floods. He portrayed Dr. Zanetor as a leader who demonstrates commitment through practical action rather than staying away when residents face difficulties.

He urged the MP to continue with her dedication to public service, saying her decision to personally engage with affected residents reflected a strong sense of responsibility toward her constituents.

Kuffour also referenced the African proverb, “The child of a tiger does not eat grass,” suggesting that Dr. Zanetor inherited some of the leadership qualities associated with her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings.

He recalled Rawlings’ reputation for personally getting involved in community activities during emergencies, including helping to direct traffic and assisting residents with clearing blocked drains after heavy rains. According to Kuffour, Dr. Zanetor’s response to the flooding reflects a similar practical and community-oriented approach to leadership.

The praise comes as several communities in Accra continue to deal with the effects of flooding, which disrupted transportation and affected homes and businesses. Dr. Zanetor was reportedly seen in areas including Odawna, where she assisted with traffic coordination and worked with emergency personnel to support affected residents.

Kuffour also pointed to Dr. Zanetor’s background as a medical doctor, along with her training in defence, conflict resolution and crisis management. He argued that these areas of expertise have given her valuable skills that can be applied when responding to emergencies.

He further commended her cooperation with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), describing the collaboration as another indication of her hands-on approach to serving the people in her constituency.

Kuffour concluded that moments of crisis often reveal the true character of leaders. In his view, leaders who remain present and actively assist their communities during difficult times are more likely to gain public trust and demonstrate genuine dedication to public service.
