I Commend The Pilot In Death, He Maneuvered The Aircraft Not To Plunge Into Populated Area -Ajanaku

Idowu Ajanaku, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, has stated that efforts are still ongoing to remove the military aircraft that crashed with 32 people on board in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area.

In an interview with Channels Television, Ajanaku said the crash site is a very swampy area. He stated that the pilot deserves commendation even in death for the way he handled the aircraft before the crash. He said the pilot carefully tried to steer the aircraft away from the densely populated part of Igbokoda

Ajanaku said the pilot’s action may have prevented a much bigger tragedy, as crashing into the populated area could have resulted in nearly 200 deaths.

In Ajanaku’s words: “The pilot of this aircraft, I must commend him even in death because what he did there carefully was to try and maneuver the aircraft not to plunge into the densely populated area in Igbokoda, because perhaps if he had plunged into that area we would now be talking about close to 200 deaths”
