WATCH: Cyril Ramaphosa makes boy’s birthday wish come true

This eight-year-old boy had a very special birthday surprise.

Meeting the President of South Africa might sound like a far-fetched wish, but for one eight-year-old boy, it was the ultimate birthday wish come true.

A video shared by the Presidency's Head of Digital Communications, Athi Geleba, shows President Cyril Ramaphosa making a young boy's dream a reality with a special meet-and-greet.

In the video, Ramaphosa greets the family, who said they had waited more than an hour just to meet the president.

The birthday boy's father explained that he first met Ramaphosa as a young boy through his father, who used to work with Ramaphosa. He also explained that the two families' connections involve cattle and hunting.

The President then turned his attention to the children, asking them their ages and the grades. In the clip, Ramaphosa can be seen shaking the young birthday boy’s hand before wishing him a happy birthday.

The sweet moment has warmed the hearts of many social media users, with some praising the President for taking the time to speak to the children.

"No president ever gives more attention than him!! That’s really commendable and a rare thing for a president," one commented.

"The [sic] will never be a president in the world like this man never prof [sic] me wrong," another commented.

"This man might not be perfect, but he loves us."

Ramaphosa is often seen greeting children during his public engagements and taking a moment to chat with them.

For this young boy, however, meeting the President on his eighth birthday is certainly a moment he is unlikely to forget.
