Bulandpuri Sahib Sangat Holds Foot March at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh to Promote Humility, Compassion and Love

The sangat of Bulandpuri Sahib organised a foot march at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh to spread the message of humility, compassion, love, peace and mutual harmony.

Representatives of Bulandpuri Sahib said the “Wave of Humility, Compassion and Love” campaign, launched at Bulandpuri Sahib in November 2024 on the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab, has grown into a global movement. According to the organisers, the initiative has reached more than 100 countries and aims to promote values of love, humility, compassion and peace among people across communities.

Seven world conferences have so far been organised under the campaign in countries including Canada, England, Australia, Italy and India. Monthly foot marches are also being held in cities around the world to carry the message to local communities.

As part of the latest phase of the campaign, foot marches were organised this week in nearly 70 major cities globally. In Chandigarh, hundreds of members of the sangat participated in the march at Sukhna Lake.

Participants carried rose flowers, banners and messages promoting compassion, humility and love as they walked around the venue. Representatives associated with Bulandpuri Sahib, along with sangat members from different areas and social personalities, also joined the event.

Organisers said Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teaching, “ਮਿਠਤੁ ਨੀਵੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਗੁਣ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆ ਤਤੁ ॥”, conveys a universal message that is not confined to any particular community or section of society. They said the “Wave of Humility, Compassion and Love” seeks to translate these values into everyday life.

A key component of the campaign is a weekly inner meditation practice aimed at helping participants connect with their inner selves, calm their minds and incorporate love, humility and compassion into their daily conduct.

The organisers said the initiative seeks to encourage people to cultivate peace and wellbeing within themselves first and then extend its positive influence to their families, workplaces, communities and wider society.
