Schuyler Houis was charged with the felonies of criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a controlled substance on October 2, 2026.

The Drug Task Force began the investigation into illegal drug activity after receiving confidential tips from area residents. According to Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, the investigation identified Houis as the alleged dealer operating out of his residence. Undercover agents began purchasing fentanyl and crack cocaine from Houis on multiple occasions. The task force says that the drugs were being transported from Waterbury, CT, to NY by Houis and sold in the North East and Millerton area.

In the early morning hours of October 2, the task force, assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit (SWAT) and the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT teams, executed a search warrant, resulting in the seizure of narcotics and other related evidence related to the sale of narcotics and Houis was taken into custody.

Houis was arraigned in the Town of Northeast Court and given an appearance ticket for a future court appearance. Detective Sergeant Harris indicated that Houis has several additional charges pending related to the sale of illegal drugs.

District Attorney Anthony Parisi said, “No part of Dutchess County is immune from the devastating impact of illegal drugs. Whether narcotics are being sold in one of our cities, our suburban communities, or in a rural town near the state line, our Drug Task Force will follow the evidence and aggressively pursue those responsible. Fentanyl and crack cocaine destroy lives, fuel addiction, and threaten the safety of our communities. This investigation demonstrates that geography will not provide protection to those who bring dangerous drugs into Dutchess County for sale. We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to identify these operations, shut them down, and hold those responsible accountable.”
