BBC Question Time Hits Back At Reform UK Over Audience Bias Claims
A report in the Mail on Sunday claimed that presenter Fiona Bruce admitted privately that the show’s audience is packed with people opposed to the right-wing party.
It said that she believed some of those signing up to take part in the political debate programme were lying to producers about who they voted for.
In a post on X, Reform said: “BBC bias knows no bounds. The TV license is a scam. Reform UK will scrap it.”
But in an unusual move, Question Time’s official X account openly rejected Reform’s claims by insisting the show’s vetting procedures were “robust”.
The programme said: “Not true. Fiona Bruce and the team have always made clear that Question Time has robust vetting procedures in place.
“Everyone who applies to be in the audience is interviewed and has to provide links to their social media accounts. If they don’t – they don’t get in.”

Earlier this year, Reform leader Nigel Farage said the BBC was “infected with left-wing bias” after it emerged that the organisation’s interim director of nations previously worked for Plaid Cymru.
