The rift between Prince William and Prince Harry shows little sign of easing, and the upcoming 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death could put their strained relationship under the spotlight once again.
Piers Morgan has now weighed in on the brothers’ ongoing feud, saying he believes William is “absolutely incandescent with anger” over what Harry has said and done since stepping away from royal duties.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Morgan said a reunion between the brothers for a possible documentary about their late mother appears unlikely.
“Well, they don’t speak to each other and haven’t done so for years,” he said.
Morgan went on to list Harry’s memoir, Netflix projects and podcasts as some of the reasons he believes William remains angry. He also accused Harry of publicly attacking members of the royal family, including Catherine, Princess of Wales, Camilla and King Charles.
“Harry took out the spray gun,” Morgan said. “And when you do that, then family members who are on the receiving end aren’t going to like it.”
Morgan added that his sympathies were with William, whom he described as a “thoroughly honorable, decent young man” who has had enough of the situation.
The comments come amid reports that William has declined several offers to make or appear in documentaries about Diana ahead of the 30th anniversary of her death in 2027.
According to The Times, people close to the Prince of Wales believe the milestone will be particularly difficult for him. Friends reportedly described him as still “really emotional” about his mother’s death.
William has also previously spoken about how much he wanted to keep Diana’s memory private. Ahead of the 20th anniversary in 2017, he said during a screening of Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy: “We won’t speak as openly or publicly about her again.”
William was just 15 when Diana died in a Paris car crash in August 1997. Harry was 12.
The brothers later came together for several tributes to their mother, including the unveiling of Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace in 2021. But their relationship has deteriorated sharply since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and moved away from the UK.
Harry, meanwhile, is reportedly considering ways to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother’s death.
People magazine reported that the Duke of Sussex has been exploring projects that would allow him to honour Diana and her legacy. He has also reportedly contacted some of her friends and family members.
No documentary has been confirmed so far.
Harry has previously spoken openly about the impact Diana’s death had on him. In his 2023 memoir Spare, he described the overwhelming grief he felt during her funeral.
And in a 2025 BBC interview, Harry said he wanted to repair his relationship with his family.
“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he said. “There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
For now, however, there appears to be little indication that the brothers are ready to reunite. (AP Photo/Alberto Pezzali)
