DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA will be represented by a four-member women’s golf team at the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), with the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) unveiling the squad ahead of the continental championship in Abuja, Nigeria.

The 2026 AACT will be held from November 2–7 at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, bringing together leading women golfers from across Africa.
Magombe said teams from 20 African countries, including Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Malawi, Mauritius, Botswana, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Eswatini, Gabon, Senegal and Togo have already confirmed their participation. She stressed that the union is proud to present the players who will carry Tanzania’s flag at the prestigious championship and called on the country to support the team.
“These are our heroes, and they need every one of us behind them. Let us support them, cheer them on and pray for them,” Magombe said. The team will be led by Hussein, who has been named captain, with Wanyeche and Olomi completing the playing squad with vast experience.
The biannual AACT will provide Tanzania with another opportunity to compete against some of Africa’s strongest women’s golf teams. Tanzania finished runners-up at the 2010 AACT in Abuja and repeated the achievement at the 2018 championship in Accra, Ghana.
