Its status as the ‘world’s most beautiful village’ means it is swamped with tourists.Residents of a village considered one of the world’s most beautiful have become fed up with the behaviour of tourists to the point that they are taking action to stop it. It is more than a century since the poet and artist William Morris declared it “the most beautiful village in England” and this clearly hasn’t faded over time, with world-renowned publisher Forbes recently naming it the world’s most beautiful village on a list featuring destinations from Norway to Mali to Morocco.
