High School Football Player’s Shocking Actions Towards Fallen Opponent Caught On Camera [VIDEO]

A New York high school football player is drawing attention for what he did after the clock hit zero. Brylen Tassy plays wide receiver for Lyons, and Friday’s Homecoming win gave him every reason to sprint toward his own sideline to celebrate. But he went the other way instead.

Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 Lyons sits in Wayne County, about 40 miles east of Rochester, and the school enrolls roughly 300 students in grades 9-12. The roster is too small to stand alone, so the Lions share a co-op with Sodus. That combined program entered the week at 4-1, and it is chasing a Wayne-Finger Lakes title after a championship-game loss last season.

The scoreboard still matters here, because the game nearly slipped away. Lyons led Midlakes 26-8 early, then watched the Screaming Eagles climb all the way back and take the lead late. Jah’Zyree Smith scored a 50-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter and closed a 32-28 win.

Smith’s score settled the result, but the final play left Midlakes’ quarterback on the ground. He had emptied the tank on the comeback, and his teammates were not next to him when he went down. Tassy did not join the Lyons celebration right away.

The clip shows the New York high school football player crossing over, pulling the quarterback to his feet, and tapping him on the head. He then lets him go toward his own teammates.

That sequence is short, and it does not change the 32-28 final. It does show where Tassy went while his own team was still celebrating a Homecoming win.

The contrast with other Friday nights is hard to miss. A handshake line turned into a brawl after a Florida high school football game just days earlier, and coaches needed deputies to pull the rosters apart. Tassy used the same postgame window for a different choice.

Lyons and Sodus also got a real statement out of the win. The defense answered after Midlakes grabbed the late lead, and the offense still found the points that mattered. A co-op that fell in last year’s title game now looks like a contender again.

Tassy’s role in the box score is the wide receiver spot, yet the clip never needs a catch to make its point. He could have stayed with the celebration, and nobody on his sideline would have blamed him. He chose the player who had just lost.

Homecoming usually ends with photos, a score, and a bus ride home. This one added a few seconds between the whistle and the party.
