Police share update on death of ‘Pac’ ex-WWE star Benjamin Satterley
Police have shared new details about the tragic passing of former WWE star Benjamin Satterley at the age of just 40.
The British-born wrestler, who was known as Pac, passed away on Sunday 27 September, just one day after he took part in AEW's All Out event in Chicago.
A spokesperson from the Cook County Medical Examiner told LADbible last month that he passed away in Illinois at 4.08pm (local time) and confirmed an autopsy had taken place, adding: āCause and manner of death are pending for additional testing. It may be several weeks before results are available.ā
New details surrounding his death have since emerged.
In an incident report shared with LADbible, an officer from Des Plaines Police Department said they and another officer reported to the scene following reports of a man āunresponsive, slumped over, in a vehicleā in a car park.
The officer said after locating the vehicle, they found Satterleyās body, and he was pronounced dead.
After āvisually observingā the body, the first responder wrote that they ādid not find any injuries or suspicious markings on himā.
The report goes on to say that the officer began looking around the vehicle and found a phone and wallet that contained a UK driving license belonging to Satterley.
In the boot of the car, the officer found two suitcases and a backpack, the latter of which contained āsome medicationā – the report has redacted the name of the medication.
The responding officer also discovered a clue about where Satterley had been headed prior to his death.
āI noticed that Google Maps was still open on his cellphone and it was routing him to O'Hare Airport,ā they wrote.
The official said that Satterleyās phone had been ringing and that their fellow officer picked it up and spoke to female known to Satterleyās whose name has been redacted.
The person told cops that she had last spoken to Satterley at around 1.20pm and heād told her he was stopping off for lunch.
The woman said that Satterleyās original flight to the UK had been delayed and had been re-scheduled for 3.30pm.
The report notes: āI did not observe any obviously suspicious marks upon Satterly nor circumstances within the vehicle.ā
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Satterley started his professional wrestling career in 2004 and competed for promotions around the world.
He first found fame competing in the WWE under the name Adrian Neville, and later signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
In 2022, he made history as the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion in 2022 and was also an acclaimed AEW World Trios Champion.
Following his tragic passing tributes poured in for Satterley, with AEW boss Tony Khan hailing him as āone of the best peopleā heās ever known.
āBen was an absolutely fantastic wrestler, absolutely fantastic human being, a great person to work with, and a great person to spend time with,ā he continued.
WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman described it as a 'truly terrible loss' adding: "He was a tremendous talent and even finer human being."
Meanwhile, AEW wrestler Evil Uno said: "I am in shock. This is heartbreaking.
"We have lost another great person, a great soul, a true professional."
