A British Airways flight bound for Chicago declared a mid-air emergency over Ireland after making a dramatic descent of around 28,000 feet, according to flight-tracking data.Flight BA295, operating from London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare, had climbed to around 37,000 feet before rapidly descending to approximately 9,000 feet. The Boeing 777-200ER, registered as G-VIIA, also transmitted Squawk 7700, the international transponder code used to signal a general emergency.
