Susan Mutami’s Resurfaced Tweet on Wicknell Chivayo’s Demise Ignites Social Media Storm in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwean social media is ablaze following the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The online frenzy intensified dramatically after an old tweet by pro-democracy activist and businesswoman Susan Mutami resurfaced, in which she had eerily predicted Chivayo’s death in a plane crash ‘very soon’. The tweet, originally posted months ago, has now gone viral, sparking widespread speculation and an outpouring of reactions across various platforms.

Mutami’s post, which explicitly stated, “Wicknell will die in a plane crash very soon. Save this post,” has led many to question the circumstances surrounding the crash and Mutami’s foresight. The unexpected accuracy of her prediction has fueled conspiracy theories and deep discussions about fate, warnings, and the often-unseen dynamics of public figures’ lives in Zimbabwe. The incident has become a dominant trending topic, with users dissecting every angle of the tragedy and the controversial prediction.
