Addressing a news conference, Barrister Gohar said he was surprised that PTI’s MNAs and MPAs were going missing despite the party having a government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Our MNAs and MPAs have been made to go missing. Even now, we say to come to your senses,” he said.
Barrister Gohar thanked Jamaat-e-Islami and Awami National Party for raising their voice against illegal actions. He said he would soon meet ANP leader Aimal Wali Khan.
“We are political people and our doors are always open for negotiations,” he said.
Barrister Gohar said the government still had time to arrange a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan the next day, after which negotiations could move forward. He said the deadlock in talks was due to the government’s attitude and that the government had not shown flexibility.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had no role in the deadlock in negotiations. Barrister Gohar said that if a meeting with Imran Khan was arranged the next day, the party would move forward.
He said PTI was working to eliminate terrorism from the province, but the federal government was not playing any role in eliminating terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Barrister Gohar said not even Rs10 out of the Rs10 billion announced by the government had been provided.
He said PTI had called an All Parties Conference in which 22 parties issued a declaration. According to the declaration, the issue of terrorism should not be brought into negotiations and PTI’s political issues.
Barrister Gohar said PTI’s sit-in would continue. He said the sit-in had started from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the party would move towards Islamabad.
