Another name has entered the 2026 presidential conversation barely hours after Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna unveiled The Equitable Party. Macharia Njeru announced on Monday, October 5, that he is officially seeking the Presidency of the Republic of Kenya.

Njeru made the announcement on X, writing that the journey begins today. He described the bid as the start of something rooted in unity, purpose and a shared vision for the nation. His official launch was set for 9:00 AM, with live coverage on his social media pages and on Citizen TV Kenya.

A poster shared with the message carries the slogan Pamoja Na Masha and shows Njeru in a dark suit and blue tie. The campaign hashtag is PamojaNaMasha.

The timing has not gone unnoticed. Sifuna’s party has dominated political talk since Sunday, with reports of more than one million sign ups within hours, a figure that has not been independently confirmed. Njeru’s entry means the early race is already getting crowded, and Kenyans online were quick to compare the two launches.
