Sowunmi Mocks Tinubu’s Critics After 44 Containers Of Electricity Equipment Held In Apapa For 20 Years Are Released
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council, Segun Sowunmi, has taken a swipe at critics of the Federal Government following the reported release of 44 containers of electricity equipment that had been held at the Apapa Port in Lagos for 20 years.
Sowunmi reacted after a video showing the release of the containers was shared by The Nation on its social media platforms. The equipment, according to the report, had remained at the port for two decades before being cleared by the Federal Government.
In a post on his X handle, the former Ogun State PDP governorship candidate accused critics of the Tinubu administration of refusing to acknowledge positive developments under the government.
He suggested that an achievement they had previously considered difficult had now been accomplished, urging Nigerians to recognise the development.
“And ignorant see no good, hear no good people won’t say thank you. What they couldn’t do now seems effortless. Forward ever Backward never. #TinubuIsAGoal. Sure bet 2027,” Sowunmi wrote.
The release of the electricity equipment has drawn attention to the prolonged period the containers reportedly spent at Apapa Port and the potential significance of making the materials available for use in the power sector.
Sowunmi’s reaction also comes amid growing political exchanges between supporters and critics of Tinubu as the President’s supporters intensify efforts to promote his record ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Nation’s report credited the video to X user EnergyTimePod.
