Malema Attacks March and March Leader, Predicts Movement’s Collapse

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has launched a scathing criticism of March and March leader Jacinta MaNgobese-Zuma, questioning her national political influence and accusing the movement of gaining support through tribalism and xenophobia.

Malema also predicted that the movement would eventually lose its relevance and disappear, drawing comparisons with the former security organisation Mapogo a Mathamaga.

Describing March and March as a vigilante group, the EFF leader argued that organisations which rely on intimidation and fear do not maintain public influence indefinitely.

“Before you know it, it will be gone like a once-vigilante group, Mapogo a Mathamaga. People used to be scared of them, but they are gone because it’s a vigilante group. We are not part of vigilante groups,” Malema said.

His remarks represent a fresh escalation in the political exchanges surrounding the movement and its leadership.

March and March has attracted national attention through its campaigns and strong positions on immigration, with its activities generating both support and criticism.

Malema’s comments also reflect broader political disagreements over immigration, national identity and the methods used by organisations campaigning on these issues.

It remains to be seen whether MaNgobese-Zuma will respond to the EFF leader’s latest criticism.
