Actors, entertainment industry stakeholders and dignitaries gathered at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, for the private screening of Lovers and Friends, a new Nigerian romantic drama produced by actress Aisha Mohammed.

The screening brought together the film’s cast and guests for an exclusive preview of the production, which explores the complexities of love, friendship, family and personal choices.

Directed by actor and filmmaker Mofe Duncan, the film tells the story of Barbara Chijioke, a successful 38-year-old public relations consultant whose carefully structured life takes an unexpected turn following her encounter with Chidi, the fearless 25-year-old younger brother of a close university friend.

As an unexpected connection develops between them, Barbara also finds herself confronted with the unwavering affection of Bassey, a dependable man who has remained a significant part of her life.

Caught between the two men, she is compelled to reconsider her understanding of love, relationships and the future she has carefully envisioned.

The film features an ensemble cast comprising William Benson, Duncan, Mohammed, Eronini Osinachim and Stella Udeze.

Through its relationship-driven storyline, Lovers and Friends examines the boundaries between friendship and romance, societal expectations, family dynamics and the difficult decisions that often accompany matters of the heart.

Mohammed, who also wrote the film, brings the story to the screen with a focus on the emotional realities of relationships and the unpredictable nature of human connections.

Duncan, who also features in the movie, leads the cast in interpreting a story that combines romance, ambition and personal discovery.

The private screening offered guests and industry personalities an opportunity to watch the production ahead of its wider release.

The production team disclosed that the film’s official release date would be announced soon.
