JUSAG Makes Major Concessions but Threatens to Continue Strike Over Unmet Demands
The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has indicated that its ongoing industrial action will continue until the government addresses its concerns regarding members’ conditions of service.
The association says it has revised its initial demands and made significant concessions in an effort to facilitate an agreement with the government. However, the response received so far has failed to satisfy its expectations.
JUSAG General Secretary, Abdulai Yakubu, disclosed this during an interview on Channel One Newsroom on Saturday, November 7, 2026, noting that the association’s leadership remained dissatisfied with the progress made towards resolving the dispute.
He explained that the association initially presented its demands to the Presidency for consideration but decided to review its position after the government’s response failed to address its concerns adequately.
According to Yakubu, the revised demands represent the maximum compromise the association is prepared to make to help resolve the impasse.
He maintained that members would have little option but to sustain the strike if the government failed to accept the revised proposals.
The JUSAG leadership has therefore reiterated its position that the industrial action will remain in force until an acceptable agreement is reached with the government over the outstanding conditions of service issues.
