If I Go Back To Big Brother Naija Maybe I Would Show Another Side Of Me, People Feel I’m Mean-Akpore

Boma Akpore, a U.S.-based Nigerian actor and model, has said he does not regret participating in the Big Brother Naija reality show, despite the criticism and public perception surrounding his appearance on the programme.

In an interview with THE CABLE, on Sunday, November 8, 2026, Akpore said he would not return to BBNaija, describing his participation as a one-time experience. He, however, stated that another appearance might have given him the opportunity to show a different side of his personality to viewers.

The actor explained that some people consider him mean because of how they perceived him during the reality show. He noted that television could influence people’s opinions about entertainers, even when they have never met them personally.

Akpore said the reality show provided him with the visibility he wanted, allowing him to reach a large number of people through television. He explained that meeting people individually would not give him the same level of exposure, as he could not possibly interact with millions of people throughout his lifetime.

He further stated that some entertainers have faced situations where people who meet them outside television are surprised by their actual personalities. According to him, this shows how the image people develop from watching television may differ from the personality they encounter in real life.

Akpore also disclosed that some people had told him he would have remained popular even without participating in BBNaija. Despite such opinions, he maintained that the experience was beneficial to his career and that he had no regrets about taking part in the programme.

In his words: “I don’t have any regrets. It is a one-time thing; I am done. If I go back again, maybe I would show another side of me that people would understand, because some people feel I am mean. I needed visibility; some people even said bro you’d still be fine if you didn’t go for the show.”
