I Nearly Gave Up Music — Mo Spence

Ghanaian-Jamaican dancehall musician Mo Spence, born Monique Spencer, has revealed that threats allegedly made by artiste manager and musician Mr Logic over a debt she said she did not owe nearly forced her to abandon her music career.

She claimed that Mr Logic wanted her to pay the money he owed, but she refused because she had not received the money.

According to her, he threatened to kill her if she failed to settle the debt when she returned to Ghana.

“He told me if I do not pay the money, he would kill me when I come to Ghana,” she recounted, explaining that the threat left her frightened.

Monique said the experience took a toll on her emotionally, leaving her depressed and devastated. She admitted that the fear was so intense that she nearly gave up music.

Despite the threats, she said she remained determined to pursue her dreams and later came to live in Ghana, where her family is based.

“I am in Ghana because my family is here, and also I am not going to let anyone stop me from achieving my dreams,” she said on Asempa FM.

She added that she had not heard from Mr Logic since the incident and did not know his current whereabouts.

Monique maintained that although the threats left her deeply shaken, she refused to allow the experience to bring her music aspirations to an end.
