Herty Twens Returns to Modelling Industry After Seven-Year Family Break

Fashion entrepreneur and former model Herty Twens is returning to Ghana’s modelling industry after taking a seven-year break to focus on marriage, motherhood and family responsibilities.

Twens, who established Gold Model Agency & School in 2011, said she stepped away from the business as her family grew and her priorities changed. She is now working to revive the agency and build on the foundation she established more than a decade ago.

Reflecting on her decision, she said marriage and motherhood required her to give more attention to her family.

“Along the way, marriage, motherhood and family responsibilities came in, and naturally, my priorities began to change,” she said.

Twens explained that her time away gave her an opportunity to embrace motherhood, grow personally and gain a different perspective on life and business. Her passion for modelling, however, remained.

The fashion entrepreneur said she is ready to reconnect with the industry and continue developing the work she began through Gold Model Agency & School.

Her return will be marked by the fifth Golden Hair & Fashion Show, scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2026, at the Accra City Hotel.

The event is expected to bring together designers, hairstylists, models and other creative professionals. Students of the agency will also have an opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed through their training.

Twens hopes the show will introduce a new chapter for the agency and highlight the talent and creativity within Ghana’s fashion industry.
