Dr Domfe George Has Made A Very Interesting Post Than Align With My Thinking—PK
According to a Post on PK Sarpong official facebook account on Sunday, November 8,2026,Ghanaian social commentator P.K. Sarpong has taken a swipe at President John Dramani Mahama’s government over its financial commitments to the 24-Hour Economy programme, questioning why a new US$10 billion funding target is being discussed when the administration has yet to account satisfactorily for its original US$4 billion projection.
In a strongly worded Facebook post published under his commentary series, Whispers from the Corridors of the Thinking Place, P.K. Sarpong endorsed concerns raised by Dr George Domfe about the government’s funding arrangements for the flagship economic initiative.
P.K. Sarpong recalled that the Mahama administration had projected US$4 billion over four years to finance the 24-Hour Economy programme. However, he argued that the reported allocations so far raised serious questions about the government’s commitment to the original financial plan.
Citing figures reportedly made available for the programme, the commentator noted that US$300 million was provided in 2025, while GH¢110 million was allocated in 2026.
He questioned how much of these amounts had actually been released and spent, arguing that the lack of clarity surrounding the disbursement and utilisation of the funds made it difficult to assess the programme’s financial progress.
Based on the figures referenced in his post, P.K. Sarpong claimed that only about 7.75 per cent of the original US$4 billion commitment had been accounted for, leaving the status of the remaining 92.25 per cent uncertain.
He challenged the government to explain what had happened to the outstanding funds and whether the original resource mobilisation strategy was still being pursued.
