Bobrisky says leaving Nigeria was one of the best decisions of his life
Nigerian socialite and crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has described his decision to leave Nigeria as one of the best choices he has made in his life.
Bobrisky, who relocated from Nigeria in November 2024 following controversies surrounding his imprisonment for naira abuse, said he had found peace outside the country and had no intention of giving it up.
The socialite made this known in a post shared on his Instagram page, where he reflected on his decision to relocate and described Nigeria as a toxic environment characterised by frequent drama, gossip and conflicts.
Recall that Bobrisky was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for naira abuse. His detention later attracted further controversy following allegations that he did not serve his jail term as ordered, triggering a dispute involving government authorities.
Reflecting on his relocation, Bobrisky said leaving Nigeria had turned out to be one of the most beneficial decisions he had made.
He explained that he was enjoying the peace and tranquillity of his new environment, adding that he was determined not to allow anything to disrupt the experience.
The socialite’s comments come amid continued public attention surrounding his controversies and life outside Nigeria.
