Agric Minister inspects Nkoko Nkitinkiti projects at Adomakokrom

Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku has expressed satisfaction with the progress made by five women beneficiaries of the government’s Nkoko Nkitinkiti initiative at Adomakokrom in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region.

The Minister made the remarks after inspecting the poultry project, which was provided to the women to support their livelihoods and improve household incomes.

Under the initiative, each of the five beneficiaries received 120 layer birds, bags of poultry feed and battery cages to enable them to venture into egg production.

Mr Opoku said he was impressed with the progress of the beneficiaries, noting that their poultry business had grown to a point where each woman now produces about four crates of eggs daily.

He said the increasing output had attracted buyers from nearby communities, including Kukuom and Goaso, who now travel to Adomakokrom to purchase eggs.

The Minister commended the women for their commitment to the project and said their progress demonstrated the potential of the initiative to improve livelihoods when beneficiaries put the support to good use.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Adom News reporter Sammy Asare expressed gratitude to the Minister, who is also their Member of Parliament, for selecting them for the programme.

They said the initiative had improved their financial stability and strengthened their ability to cater for their families.

The beneficiaries also welcomed the opportunity to operate their own poultry businesses and generate income from egg production.
