Star Oil Expands Nationwide To 282 Filling Stations As Market Share Climbs To 15%

Star Oil has expanded its footprint in Ghana’s petroleum retail market, adding 32 filling stations in 2026 and taking its nationwide network to 282 outlets, according to figures disclosed by its Chief Executive Officer, Kwame Tieku.

Tieku shared the company’s performance details in an interview with GHOne TV on Saturday, November 7, 2026. He said the business had recorded growth not only in the number of stations it operates but also in the volume of fuel sold each month.

The company’s retail expansion represents an increase of 32 outlets within the year. Tieku said the additions were part of efforts to extend access to Star Oil’s products and services and reinforce its position in Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.

Sales have also risen, according to the CEO. He disclosed that monthly sales volumes are now more than 24 million litres higher than the level recorded in 2025. The information provided did not specify the company’s exact monthly sales figure or give a breakdown of the increase by product.

Tieku also reported an improvement in Star Oil’s share of the country’s petroleum retail market. The company’s share rose from 13 per cent in 2025 to 15 per cent this year, a gain of two percentage points.

Taken together, the figures point to growth across three areas of the business: its retail presence, the quantity of fuel sold and its portion of the market. The expansion to 282 stations gives the company a wider network, while the rise in sales and market share indicates stronger commercial performance compared with the previous year.

The disclosure comes as fuel marketing companies compete for customers and presence in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector. However, Tieku’s interview account did not provide details of the locations of the 32 new stations, the investment involved in opening them or the methods used to calculate the company’s market share.

Star Oil’s figures offer a snapshot of its progress over the past year. With 282 outlets and a 15 per cent share of the retail market, the company is seeking to build on the expansion and sales growth recorded in 2026.
