Six Players And One Question Chiefs Supporters Must Answer

Kaizer Chiefs have continued strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 season, unveiling six new players as the club prepares to compete for major trophies. The latest arrivals have sparked discussions among supporters, with many questioning whether Amakhosi are finally bringing in the quality needed to challenge South Africa’s top teams.

The six players identified as new additions are Renaldo Leaner, Thabo Moloisane, Adolf Mtasingwa, Elias Mokwana, Faiz Abrahams and Langelihle Phili.

Each player is expected to offer something different to head coach Fernando da Cruz as he works towards building a stronger and more competitive squad.

Leaner is expected to provide additional depth in the goalkeeping department, while defender Moloisane could strengthen Chiefs’ defensive options. Mtasingwa, meanwhile, offers another alternative in midfield, where the club will need consistency and creativity.

Elias Mokwana is another notable arrival who could bring valuable attacking qualities and give Chiefs more options going forward. Faiz Abrahams, who joined on loan, will have an opportunity to prove his worth and potentially secure a longer-term future at the club.

Young winger Langelihle Phili also offers exciting potential. His pace and attacking ability could become important assets once he fully recovers from the ankle injury that interrupted his progress.

However, supporters understand that signing new players alone does not guarantee success. Chiefs must turn their recruitment into improved performances and consistent victories.

With pressure mounting on the club to reclaim its position among South Africa’s leading teams, all eyes will be on these six arrivals.

Ultimately, their performances in the famous Amakhosi jersey will determine whether they can silence critics and help Chiefs challenge Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates for domestic honours.
