Malema Votes Without His Wife For The First Time
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has reportedly departed from his usual election-day routine after casting his ballot without his wife, Mantwa Malema, for the first time.
Malema reportedly arrived at a polling station in Seshego, Limpopo, where he voted in his hometown during the ongoing local government elections. The EFF Commander-in-Chief was accompanied by his eldest son, Ratanang Malema, as well as several senior party leaders.
However, the absence of Mantwa Malema attracted attention, as the couple have traditionally appeared together during previous voting occasions.
Malema and his wife have been photographed exercising their democratic rights side by side in the past, including during the 2016 local government elections. Their joint appearances at polling stations have become a familiar feature of the politician’s election-day activities.
This year’s voting appearance was therefore different, with Mantwa notably missing from the scene.
Despite the unusual development, no official explanation has been provided regarding her absence. It remains unclear whether the decision was related to personal commitments or other circumstances.
Malema’s appearance at the polling station comes as political parties across South Africa participate in the crucial local government elections, with voters determining the future leadership of municipalities nationwide.
The incident has sparked interest among observers familiar with the EFF leader’s previous voting-day appearances.
