Kenyan Motorists Await November 14 Fuel Price Announcement as Global Oil Prices Decline
Kenyan motorists are hoping for lower fuel prices as the country approaches the next monthly review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
The regulator is expected to announce new petrol, diesel and kerosene prices on November 14, 2026, with the revised rates scheduled to take effect on November 15.
The upcoming announcement has attracted attention following a decline in international oil prices, raising expectations that Kenyan consumers could finally benefit from cheaper fuel at local petrol stations.
Fuel prices remain a major concern for households, businesses and transport operators because changes in pump prices often affect the cost of living. Any reduction could offer some relief to motorists and businesses that depend heavily on fuel for daily operations.
Transport companies, public service vehicle operators and traders are among those closely watching the review, given the impact fuel costs have on transportation and the prices of goods and services.
However, a decline in international crude oil prices does not automatically translate into lower pump prices in Kenya. EPRA considers several factors when determining monthly fuel prices, including the cost of imported petroleum products, exchange rates, shipping expenses and other applicable charges.
The regulator will therefore need to assess the relevant pricing data before deciding whether motorists will enjoy a reduction or face another adjustment.
For now, Kenyans are waiting for the November 14 announcement, hoping that the drop in global oil prices will translate into more affordable fuel locally.
The official EPRA announcement will determine how much motorists pay for fuel during the next pricing cycle.
