“I Tell you All The Time, You Will Never Leave EFF And Sound Normal” EFF Leader Malema Hit Out

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has launched a sharp response to an individual criticising the party, questioning their attitude towards the organisation and accusing them of having an exaggerated sense of self-importance.

Malema made the remarks during an exchange in which he challenged the individual’s position on the EFF, particularly their apparent expectations and attitude towards the party despite their political choices.

“I tell you all the time, you will never leave EFF and sound normal. How do you not vote and you think it’s normal? Your over-exaggerated self-importance,” Malema said.

The EFF leader’s comments come at a politically challenging period for the party following its disappointing performance in the 2026 Local Government Elections. The party’s electoral setback has generated discussions about its leadership, political strategy and ability to maintain its support base.

The election results have also placed Malema under renewed scrutiny, with questions being raised about the direction of the organisation and whether the party needs to reconsider its approach to attracting voters.

Despite the criticism, Malema has maintained a defiant position, insisting that the EFF will not abandon its political principles simply to attract electoral support. He has also acknowledged that voters exercised their democratic rights by choosing other political parties.

His latest remarks highlight the increasingly confrontational exchanges surrounding the EFF as it navigates the aftermath of the elections.

The party now faces the challenge of rebuilding its electoral support, addressing concerns raised by voters and strengthening its political influence ahead of future electoral contests.

Malema’s response has further fuelled conversations about political loyalty, voter participation and the expectations individuals place on political organisations.
