How Can An Entire Football Association Reportedly Struggle To Provide Modern Team Bus?—Bongo

According to a Post on Bongo Ideas official facebook account on Saturday, November 7,2026,Ghanaian social commentator Bongo Ideas has questioned the priorities of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following reports that the association, on behalf of the Black Stars, settled GH¢84,000 in medical bills to facilitate the discharge of 16 mothers at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

According to the report shared by Bongo Ideas on Facebook, the payment was made ahead of Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Somalia.

Although he acknowledged the humanitarian nature of the gesture, Bongo Ideas argued that the GFA should pay greater attention to its core responsibility of developing football and providing adequate logistics for the country’s national teams.

He expressed concern over what he described as the association’s inability to provide a modern team bus for the national teams, questioning why funds could be committed to settling hospital bills while basic logistical needs within Ghanaian football remained unresolved.

Bongo Ideas stressed that he had no objection to the association supporting the mothers, but insisted that such interventions should not distract it from addressing the challenges confronting the country’s football administration.

He maintained that the GFA’s primary responsibility was to ensure that Ghana’s national teams had the necessary facilities, equipment and logistical support to operate effectively.

In his criticism, the social commentator urged the football governing body to reconsider its priorities and focus on improving the conditions under which the national teams prepare for and participate in international competitions.

He described the reported payment as a commendable humanitarian gesture but argued that football development and the welfare of the national teams should remain at the centre of the association’s activities.
