Efia Odo Reveals What She Avoids To Stay Young

According to a report by Ghbase News on Saturday November 7, 2026, Ghanaian actress and socialite Efia Odo has opened up about some of the lifestyle choices she believes contribute to her youthful appearance, disclosing that she avoids smoking, limits her alcohol consumption and has significantly reduced her intake of meat.

The actress shared these personal habits during a TikTok Live session on November 5, 2026, where she addressed perceptions surrounding ageing and challenged the notion that people in their 30s and 40s should be considered old.

According to Efia Odo, society has developed a contradictory attitude towards age, particularly when discussing people who die in their 30s, 40s and 50s compared to those who are still alive within the same age brackets.

She questioned why people who die at such ages are often described as having passed away young, while those who continue living in their 30s and 40s are sometimes labelled as old.

“Here’s a secret to how I look, because I’m in my 30s. I feel like people have made their 30s look like some kind of old age.

Because why is it that when you die at 30, 35, 36, 38, 40, or 50, they say, ‘Oh, you died young,’ but when you’re alive in your 30s or 40s, suddenly, you’re old? Make it make sense,” she said.

Efia Odo maintained that age should not determine how individuals perceive themselves, arguing that personal wellbeing and one’s attitude towards life are more important than the number of years they have lived.

She explained that although she considers herself to have an old soul, she maintains a youthful spirit and deliberately avoids situations that could expose her to unnecessary stress.

“That goes to show you that age is just a number. It’s about how you feel. I have an old soul but a young spirit, and I don’t stress either. I don’t let anything stress me out because stress is really the number one killer,” she stated.

The actress also spoke about her relationship with alcohol, admitting that she occasionally takes tequila shots but is gradually working towards giving up drinking altogether.

She believes alcohol consumption can contribute to premature ageing and therefore wants to minimise its place in her lifestyle.

“I’m not really big on alcohol. Yeah, I’ll take tequila shots here and there, but I’m really trying to stop because alcohol does make you age.

I just live a really free life. I’m not pressured by society. I don’t let anything pressure me because pressure ages you. I age gracefully,” she said.

Beyond alcohol consumption, Efia Odo disclosed that she stays away from smoking and other recreational substances, including hookah, electronic cigarettes and marijuana.

According to her, avoiding these substances is another lifestyle decision she has made as part of her commitment to maintaining her appearance and overall wellbeing.

“I’m not really into smoking. I don’t smoke hookah, vape or weed. I don’t do any of that stuff,” she added.

On her dietary choices, the actress revealed that she has also cut down considerably on meat consumption and rarely eats chicken.

Her comments have drawn attention to her personal approach to ageing, with Efia Odo emphasising that living freely, avoiding unnecessary pressure and making conscious lifestyle decisions are important parts of how she maintains her youthful outlook.

She believes people should not allow societal expectations surrounding age to dictate how they live their lives, insisting that ageing gracefully is more about how one feels and the choices one makes than simply counting the years.
