2027: Tinubu Makes Victory Declaration at APC Rally in Akwa Ibom

According to a report by Punch on Friday, November 6, 2026, President Bola Tinubu used his appearance at an All Progressives Congress endorsement rally in Uyo to project confidence about retaining the presidency in the 2027 election.

Addressing supporters in Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu spoke warmly about his reception and announced that he intended to remain in the state overnight. He turned the planned stay into a political message, linking it to his expectation of securing another term.

“Thank you, Akwa Ibom. I love you with my heart, and I will definitely, I will sleep here tonight. It’s going to be a second-term presidential sleep. I will dream of victory too,” the President declared.

The President also used the gathering to call on residents to take part in the electoral process. He urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and ensure they cast their ballots when the next general election takes place.

Beyond his re-election appeal, Tinubu outlined areas where he said Akwa Ibom could benefit from further development if he secures a second term. He pointed to education, vocational training and job creation, presenting skills acquisition as an important route towards improving employment opportunities.

He also drew attention to the state’s palm produce, describing the sector as a resource with potential to support economic activity. Tinubu said the cultivation of economic trees and greater use of locally available resources could help create jobs while giving residents practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.

The rally was one of the President’s political engagements as parties look towards the 2027 general elections. His visit was not limited to campaign activities, as the programme also included the commissioning of projects delivered by the administration of Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno.

Among the facilities mentioned was infrastructure at Victor Attah International Airport, which formed part of the projects inaugurated during the presidential visit.

Tinubu’s address therefore combined an appeal for electoral support with promises focused on human capital development, employment and the use of the state’s natural resources. His remarks placed the 2027 contest alongside his stated development priorities for Akwa Ibom.
