Wetang’ula’s Brother Reveals Who Has Blessed Sifuna and Advises Kenyans on What to Do Next

A powerful message from elders has added fresh momentum to the conversation around Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s political future, with a clear call to supporters: register as voters if they want to help him become president.

Speaking about Sifuna’s ambitions, Tim Wanyonyi said elders had blessed the senator and urged Kenyans who support his possible presidential journey to take voter registration seriously. His remarks place responsibility not only on political leaders, but also on citizens hoping to influence the country’s next election.

The message comes as Sifuna’s name features in discussions about the future of the opposition and the 2027 presidential race. His supporters present him as a leader capable of attracting a new generation of voters, while questions remain about the political arrangements and alliances that could shape any presidential bid.

Wanyonyi’s appeal carries a practical message. Public support alone cannot determine an election; eligible citizens must register and eventually turn out to vote. Without that participation, even strong political excitement may fail to translate into results at the ballot.

The mention of elders’ blessings is also likely to attract attention, especially in Kenya, where endorsements from respected community figures can carry political and cultural significance. However, a blessing does not guarantee victory, and Sifuna would still have to build support across the country and navigate a competitive election.

The remarks have given supporters another reason to discuss his political future, while critics may question whether the momentum can grow beyond his current support base. Many people were left talking, and the message has added to the debate over who could lead the opposition next ahead of the crucial 2027 contest.
