Shettima, Oshiomhole dance to Kizz Daniel’s ‘Buga’ at APC rally

Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole have attracted attention after dancing to Kizz Daniel’s hit song ‘Buga’ at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The duo took to the stage on Friday as the song played during the political gathering held in support of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

In videos circulating on social media, Shettima and Oshiomhole were seen raising their shoulders and moving energetically to the rhythm of the song, drawing reactions from supporters and other attendees.

Their performance provided an entertainment moment at the rally, with social media users sharing the clips and commenting on their dance moves.

The appearance also renewed attention on ‘Buga’, which has remained a recognisable party favourite since its release in 2022.

Released on May 5, 2022, ‘Buga’ is a collaboration between Kizz Daniel and fellow Nigerian singer Tekno. The song was produced by Reward Beatz, with additional production contributions from Blaise Beatz, Young Willis and Micky Geetarist.

The track became popular for its upbeat rhythm and dance challenge, which attracted participation from people across different age groups and professions, including celebrities and public figures.

In an interview with American media personalities Angela Yee and DJ Envy on The Breakfast Club in August 2022, Kizz Daniel explained that the song celebrates personal achievement.

“Buga means to flaunt your success unapologetically. Just letting people know that you’ve worked so hard and you deserve to celebrate your success.”

Since then, the song has continued to feature at public celebrations and social gatherings, demonstrating its lasting appeal beyond its initial release.
