“Ruto is Hardworking ” Mt Kenya DCP MP Finally Admits As He Delivers Strong Message to Kenyans
Ol Kalou MP Sammy Ng’otho has triggered fresh political debate after questioning the effectiveness of President William Ruto’s leadership approach, arguing that hard work alone does not necessarily translate into successful governance.
In remarks aired by KTN News during its KTN Prime broadcast, the legislator acknowledged that the Head of State is hardworking but maintained that dedication and effort must be accompanied by effective strategies to deliver meaningful results.
Ng’otho, who was elected on the ticket of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), drew an interesting comparison between the President’s leadership style and the experiences of high school students.
The MP recalled that during his school days, some students would wake up early in the morning and spend long hours studying until late at night but still perform poorly because they relied on ineffective learning methods.
He argued that the same situation could be reflected in Ruto’s administration, suggesting that despite the government’s visible efforts, its approach to governance and policy implementation might not be producing the expected results.
The Ol Kalou legislator’s remarks come amid heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election, particularly following Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s declaration that he intends to challenge Ruto for the presidency.
Ng’otho’s criticism adds to the growing number of political voices questioning the government’s performance and its progress in fulfilling promises made to Kenyans.
Through his remarks, the DCP legislator shifted attention from Ruto’s widely publicised work ethic to the actual outcomes of his administration’s policies and development programmes.
His argument suggests that the government needs to reconsider its strategies and focus on delivering tangible results rather than relying primarily on long working hours, public engagements and displays of commitment.
The comments could also resonate with Kenyans who have continued to raise concerns about the cost of living and the gap between the government’s development promises and the economic realities facing ordinary citizens.
